The legacy of the libertarian and tea party movement is an increase in violence against women and minorities. It has opened the flood gates on the, until recently, corked up racism in this country. Their attitudes have made a shift, where these people feel vindicated in their abhorrent beliefs and behaviors, and thus have taught their children that it is okay, because thoughtful discourse is for Nancy-pants liberals. If you view their discussions on Facebook, it is evident that they have wanted to express their denigrating views and vitriol for a long time, it’s built up. Their crass behavior, however, reflects their fear and deeply flawed emotional and intellectual intelligence. I am proud to be a Nancy-pants who thinks before they speak, but also doesn’t fear pigmentation or the form of the love of another. It takes a dark heart to believe what they do.
