We really need to push past the idea that Climate Change is a debatable phenomena. It is our reality. The reality is that humans have exacerbated it. Our job, if we really care about the future of the coming generations, and it becomes doubtful that certain groups do considering they’re willing to sacrifice them in order to have profits in the now, then we need to act. Scientists are not making money off of energy change, environmental care, etc. They’re paid in minimal grants, and rank among working families in most cases. Very few are making a really high income. That’s a lie sold by the opposition (how can you oppose a clean environment??). The opposition are the money. They are the ones earning big revenue off of fossil fuel uses, raping resources, leaving a mess in their wake for the rest of us to clean up. That money is used to wage a disinformation campaign, to keep people uninformed, or guessing what is true versus what is not true. The energy corporations stand to lose the most in the changes that are required to address climate change. So, do your homework. When you heard words against the science of climate change, trace them back to their sources. If they are homed in a right wing think tank, then they’re more than likely to be funded by Koch Industries or other conglomerates who have a vested interest in keeping things the way they are.
We don’t have time. The debate is over. You can join the rest of us in a clean future, or you can drag your feet and be brought along anyway, kicking and screaming if you like, to find out how very wrong you were. But, just remember, the harder you fight, the less change we can make and the devastating weather patterns we are just beginning to experience now will only get exponentially worse. Are you part of those who will do right by the coming generations of humanity, or will you be among those who made a veritable hell on earth for them to inherit?
I realize there are sociopaths out there who would like nothing more than to see suffering, but The majority of us are feeling people. Don’t let manipulators tell you what is the truth. Trace the money of these anti-climate change and learn for yourself who is pulling your strings. We promise not to say “We told you so.”
