If you dare, for just one minute, I’d invite you to walk through my dreams.
It is lucky for you, dear reader, that the question was specific as to what type of dreams: Daydreams. For, if the request was to know what was in my mind in the throws of slumber, you’d find a nightmare fantasy at one moment sublime, slipping ever to confusion, then riding from the sinister to the absolute terrorizing.
My daydreams vary with what is happening in my life. I may dream of a vacation, something I haven’t taken in approximately twenty years, because I cannot afford to do so. Other moments, I dream about being a beloved performer, unafraid to take the stage to sing and dance my heart out, something I did in my youth, but did not continue with into later years. That is a regret of mine, as I love theater and performing, The practice would help a great deal with readings, besides. It would be nice to be a lot less nervous!
Of course, I have the usual daydreams: finding love, tilting at windmills, meeting goals, imagining who my daughter will grow to be, and I even imagine terrible tragedies because we do daydream our fears, as well. You’d expect me to spend my time back in the worlds of my books, and with that you’d be correct. These daydreams are probably the greatest in number out of all of them. Through wandering thoughts on long drives, I’ve tested out many scenes.
My more rare daydreams are those in which I wonder about the answers to my deeper questions. By that, I mean, I ponder scenarios around historical events, and attempt to discern underlying details. Conspiracy is a favorite of mine to imagine.
Let’s hop on over to see what the other authors daydream…
