Suicide Awareness Should Be Every Day. If you or someone you love needs help, reach out. It’s worth it. 1-800-273-8255
And on that day that I finally fell,
I reached those pearly gates,
And they say to me,
“We’re sorry, we thought you could handle it.”
All the rage and frustration I had ever felt
Ignited my soul and I replied:
“I told you I couldn’t. You didn’t even throw me a scrap,
not a bone to make soup with.
You left me to flounder no matter how I begged,
Every drop of will sapped from my heart until it broke my brain.
I told you I couldn’t and you wouldn’t respond.”
And they said, “we’re sorry. Maybe next—“
I cut them off right there, my heart and my brain on fire.
“There won’t be a next time! This was the last time you
torture and abuse me. I’m not listening to the gaslighting.
I would rather burn in hell and serve a master who is honest
about stealing everything from me, than serve those on wing
who ignore my suffering.”
