In other editions of The Technology of Trailokya, I’ve covered transportation, weapons and armor, Bio Interface Machines, the Kapalanum, Zion’s gates, Communications and the Penannular. Hopefully those articles both whet your appetite and deepened your experience of the series. Let’s continue now with direct and indirect interfaces.
Both souls and duta will encounter incarnations during the course of their dharma. An incarnation is simply put, coming to live a life as a being in Samsara. For instance, a soul may choose to lead a human life to explore the uniqueness of being a researcher, a soldier, or mother. These are things that can be experienced to an extent in Zion, but they don’t come with many of the complications that one encounters in Samsara. The adversity faced sharpens the mind and strengthens the atman.
How a soul or duta undergo this process is through writing a contract via their assigned guardian, and with the approval of their alder committee. All contracts will interlace with the dharma of other planned incarnations. The contract is a promise to fulfill the dharma agreed upon. With success of fulfilling the contract comes growth. Failure to fulfill the contracted dharma, even partially, can lead to another’s failure and thus weakens all involved, but mostly the one who causes the deficit. In many cases, this leads to further incarnations and delays the rising of the atman involved. This is why some beliefs speak of reincarnation and karma.
In order to incarnate, an atman will chose to directly or indirectly interface with a bio-vessel on the Samsaran world of their choosing. A bio-vessel is also called a bio-interface machine, and is a biological host which the atman possesses for an agreed upon length of time, in order to fulfill the contract. Attributes are decided in the contract, as well as the BIMs that will create the new machine.
A direct interface takes place when the atman is placed within the bio-vessel. They are never discovered because upon death they vacate back to Zion (think of spooky theory). They also are not a solid object, as we understand in Samsara, but an energy field, which the vessel camouflages while attached. The danger of this connection is that Jahannam’s soldier are able to detect these atman and can steal them. Instead of just leaving a husk, these dark beings often take up a rudimentary connection in the bio-vessel and use for nefarious ends. This occurrence has developed a universal notion of spirit possession among Samsaran cultures. Because incarnated beings don’t recall their roots in Zion, the phenomena came to be explained in fantastical ways, and often has even more fantastical remedies. Despite this problem, this is the most common of interfaces undertaken, and why guardians are necessary.
Indirect interface is exactly how it sounds. The atman will be connected via lines (wireless connectivity) completed by the muses of Otzar who watch over their incarnated charges. Drawing of the lines puts the sattva into a trance, as the consciousness is completely focused on the distant bio-vessel. This interface is safe for any atman incarnating and is the preferred manner for duta and higher resonating souls. The likelihood of their atman being damaged is mitigated to nearly zero. Guardians are still dispatched to watch over the incarnation, as they both protect and bear witness. When an indirect interface is prematurely cut, the atman will break its trance and wake, just as if it were ending its contract. The guardian will either return, or attempt to recover the bio-vessel. This is dependent on the necessity of the dharma attached. In some cases, a stronger atman will step in to finish the contract, as the danava (Jahannam’s soldiers) have been roused to attention and will remain tenacious for the sake of it.
Keep in mind that this is a less than scientific explanation of the process, to maintain the readers understanding of such strange concepts. Return next Friday for more about The Trailokya Trilogy.
