The right of a woman to choose is her right to autonomy and the right to her life.

The fact that the right wing is using a human trafficking bill to undermine a woman’s right to chose her own health care is very telling of how they feel about the role of women in society. They’ve so far embarrassed themselves with talks of legitimate rape and bills that allow a rapist to decide the woman’s fate should she end up pregnant from the attack. They continue to embarrass themselves, using religion as an excuse for this call to disempower half the population of the world. It exposes the deep pathology of the type: Sociopath — one who causes suffering and lacks empathy, instead getting feelings of elation from their actions.

“You know, many of us ran on the right to choose. I was one of them,” she said. “I am old enough to have seen the way it was before, to have sentenced women who committed illegal abortions with coat hangers. That is sort of the systemic root of all of this. It is our history, senator.”
