Nothing makes a dog owner’s heart drop to the floor like hearing that they may have inadvertently injured their best friend. These animals are family, and just like a two-leg child, we care what we feed them and we want to be sure they’re getting the proper nutrition. With all the research and effort in finding a food your dog will actually eat, let alone enjoy, finding out the brand you selected has had an incident (contamination of one kind or another) is frustrating to say the least.
Sadie Sue Shagbottom came to me with stomach issues and has continued to have a sensitive stomach. The brand of food I have been feeding her is a limited ingredient diet, which appears to not upset her, but every fall, the same allergy and sensitivity issues peak. So, I can totally understand where other dog owner’s are coming from when this happens. Not only is it making you scared for your dog, but accidents damage the house, and interrupt the day to day flow. It’s just heartbreaking to see them laid low and the other stuff piles on to make sure you feel it.
So what are some tips to deal with a recall? See this great article from Dogington Post that simplifies the matter, so you can deal with recalls without the stress of trying to figure out how to deal with a recall.
What To Do When Your Dog’s Food is Recalled | The Dogington Post.
Those of you who know me, know that I am an avid dog enthusiast. I grew up with dogs, I stalk dogs with my camera, I love every dog I see and I will always have a dog at my side. (Adopt don’t Shop!) I hope that one day MAGDRL will allow me to adopt one of their beautiful rescue Danes. Alas, I need a fence or they will not allow it. But, I digress.
When I found this article in my email from the BarkPost (a perk of those Bark Boxes you can order for your pet – yes, I get them for my girl because I’m a koo-koo dog mom), I was totally stoked that I could now bring my dog nearly everywhere. Soon, we will conquer the unfriendly Target chain.
