I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Terri Gettman since we became friends on Facebook back in 2014. It’s not a long time, but the years have shown me a talented and warmhearted woman I’m sure you’ll also grow to love.

A graduate of Westminster High School, Terri is an experienced and professional horse care provider. She also cares for other animals, such as cows, chickens, geese, exotics, dogs, cats, and wildlife. Having lived in a total of five states, she has currently settled in Cedaredge Colorado. Here, Terri started pursuing her lifelong dream of art as a business in 2015, but has been doing art much longer. The pieces she’s created since range from portraits to furniture. Her inspiration is the natural world, which she’s blessed to have in abundance at her doorstep. Spiritual influences bleed through the colors and subjects. These roots can be found in her multi-ethnic background, including European, Native American (Creek/Cheyenne), and Hispanic ancestors.

Terri in her own words:

Well, I have always had a natural talent for drawing, doing pencil portraits and such. I decided to try my hand at painting in 2014, and I have progressed from there. when I start a painting, I have a picture in my mind, and without even realizing it, when it is done, there is a clear meaning behind the finished product. I am especially proud of the “Women” series, because I want to show the beauty and strength of women of every culture. I also plan to put the paintings up for sale and 50% of the money from the sales, will go into an account for a young artist to be able to continue art studies after high school. I will hold a contest where young people can submit their best piece, drawing, painting, sculpture, etc. etc. And, I am going to let the FaceBook family pick the winner. I will also show my furniture painting, as well as the rock art and horse statues. I enjoy art projects of all kinds, from clay pottery, to building bird and fairy houses. I can look at a rock wall and see people dancing, look at the sky, and see running wolves in shades of pink, purple and blue. an artists mind is always creating. Oh! I have signed the “Women” series with the moniker, “ALUNA” meaning; “The Mother, The Creator Of Ideas”.
