Do you have a moment to speak about the glory and majesty that is Giraffe?
The New York Wolf Conservation Center is an absolute treasure. I’ve been giving to them for the past couple years now. They help to educate people about the necessity of wolves in our environment. Though they are an apex predator, and that status concerns many, they’re not an especial danger to man. In fact, they prefer to keep clear of all humans. The issue, imagined or real, surrounds cattle kills in more cases than any others reported. I am apt to blame the rancher, who should be able to keep a watch of his/her herd, and a desire not to do so due to cost, labor or other reasons they so often give. Ranching is a hard life. A good rancher lives the hardest job on the range – weather to hardship.
“We know wolves and other top predators are key to a healthy ecosystem”, said Tara Thornton, Program Director for the national Endangered Species Coalition. “In the Northeast, it’s critical to have protections in place for wolves if we are ever to see them return to their native landscape,” she added.
To do this, we have to reassure the human population who will be ‘affected’ and safeguard the animal population in true conservator fashion. Read more at the Wolf Conservation Center website. Check out this image shared by the Northeast Wolf Coalition.
