What would happen if a book club shared The Trailokya Trilogy? I’m rather sure that the fabric of space and time would not open up, but then again, who knows. The weight and measure of the contents of these books is what some may consider immense. Exposing the corruption of institutions many hold in high honor, that could cause a bit of an explosion. I’m positive, no matter what, some kind of controversy will arise from the series. That’s if people realize the depth it goes to challenge perceptions long held dear to ask very important questions.
What topics might come up in a book club reading of this series? Certainly the question of is this a pro-religion or anti-religion text. What I have to say on the matter, despite being the author, will be of relatively low consequence. I’m an agnostic who favors atheism over belief. Religion isn’t wholly to blame for abuse, but it has been leveraged to wage abuse via the interpretations of psychopaths.
Book clubs may discuss the factions within the books. They might wonder what Order they’d belong to, and why. If they were one of the duta races, which species would they be. Some might favor danava, because there is always someone who loves the bad guys and identifies with them best. These orders and factions come with their own style, from uniform types of clothing to favored weaponry.
The animals in the series would probably be a favorite topic, and I could see those enjoying the series creating art around these characters. For example, if the Sun Order had a particular species of animal what would it be and why? Would it be from Earth, a cryptid, or something from one of the other worlds of Samsara, something from the inbetween, something wholly unknown? What of the Lungs who guard the armory of Walhall? Their color reveals their age range.
Many would discuss what their parcel of Zion would look like, and who their family is in the home world. Are they human or another soul race. As mentioned above, perhaps they are duta. There are multiple races existing in the series, and as it continues, the reader will get to know them better. From this, I wager that readers would want to talk about the places in Samsara they’d like to visit.
Book clubs might also want to discuss the history and myth topics in the books, such as factors seemingly inspired by greco-roman culture. They might want to delve into the link of Gyuto with the Astral in the vein of meditation and Buddhism. Exploring the touch of Viking, Islam, and African, Celtic lore that weaves into the narrative and worded sights is quite the basket of Easter Eggs. Will they want to analyze the angelic hierarchy and the visuals of those beings juxtaposed with what they know of Abrahamic messengers?
Of course, the book clubs will want to discuss the relationships they read in these pages. They’ll wonder if Maiel meets the Bechdel or if she falls prey to convention. Does the ride through abuse touch on all the nasty topics that make domestic violence so taboo? Are the friendships authentic enough for them? They may wonder what they would do in these situations. What would you do if the person you loved could not be your partner and what repercussions would that have on your life? Would you fight so hard to save someone you knew was hate personified? Who, in that situation, would you strive to save?
Book clubs might like the question: is society responsible for creating its monsters, or are there monsters who sometimes work together to break society? Is evil unrepentant or can it be turned around, and if so how? Is there such a thing as ultimate goodness, and what would that look like, is that truly good? What do these two things even mean?
A fun topic might be, what if the UWOS was real? Imagine, a contingent of other worldly agents dispersed across the planet to keep watch of humanity, and prevent very bad individuals from taking over…a contingent of super hero spies. This series takes a look at that group soon in the final book of the trilogy.

Last month we revisited the idea of recidia in 
In response to this new need, the king believed it far more just to both those on the side of Zion and those on the side of the conflict to have a place that would allow such resonances to freely process, but kept them apart from those they could harm. The creation of Jahannam was meant to provide safety to both, but also a route back to the higher resonances, if the grigori should rise from their trials. Nirvana saw this as another path to higher resonance, despite the massive negativity incurred by it. Some atman required more experiences than others to reach higher planes. Thus, it was deemed that Jahannam would be lesser than Samsara, despite the majority of former duta who populated the expanse. Additionally, these beings became known as danava. The souls who joined them were known as Marditavya. 
Jahannam is the sixth realm, and a prison world where the lowest resonance beings exist as their violent tendencies are dangerous to other atman. Danava settled here after losing the war they started in Zion, called the Conflict of Hosts. This war was in response to the abuse that Watchers charged with the protection of Samsara undertook against the souls living there. Their crimes included rape and murder, and lesser infractions like adultery and abuses that could be cataloged under usury. The duta who committed these atrocities felt that they were entitled as they were merely doing so with Bio Vessels, ignoring the damage that their efforts wrought on the atman involved.
The danava languished in their prison, far from the perpetual light. The seal blocked out their link, and they changed. Their atman devolved. These beings fed upon one another and fought within their ranks to establish factions and a hierarchy. Eight principalities arose from the wreckage of their imprisonment. A ninth land, Asfodel Fields, was created to protect the souls that had been manipulated by the danava and repented their involvement in the war and abuses against their kind. The king was not unkind to these atman, and many were repaired in the years since.
The climate of Jahannam, outside of Cocytus, is dessert. Nothing grows there, being it is dust and rock. The minimal light is enduring throughout the Jahannam year, and there is only one season. The terrain of Jahannam shifts from sands to rocky stretches. Gorges and canyons crack the surface. Some areas boast serrated and splintering mountains. Other places are caverns beneath the ground, complete with stalagmites and stalactites, as well as pillars.
