Caring for our pets is very much like caring for our children. However, many pet owners forget the needs of their animals because we don’t live like them. We can change into summer clothes, but year round, our dogs and cats have thick fur coats. Cesar Millan goes over some reminders for caring for our furry buddies which we can all stand to go over as the temperatures rise.
My quick tips: Remember to keep that water bowl full of fresh clean water. If you’re going to leave them out, provide a shady spot. When walking your dog during the summer, keep to early in the day or the evening. Their pads get burned on hot pavement. DO NOT LEAVE A DOG IN A CAR FOR ANY REASON OR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME.

By Dr. Sherry Weaver The summer is a great time to talk about overheating. All over the country and year-round, dogs are put in situations that are not safe due to temperature.
