My favorite commercial… of course I enjoy the Geico commercials with Flo. I love the parrot commercial from Budweiser–Wassup!! But one that sticks out in my mind comes from 1995. It made me laugh no matter what. And, it’s stupid. Just stupid!
This is the only version of the commercial that I could find. He did say “crispity” and “crunchety” as he flew around the house, and that’s what got me to laugh every time. It was just stupid funny. But, you’ll get the idea here. I wish I could find the right version! I think it was a couple years earlier, because I remember watching it at my mom’s on the couch after school. In 1995, I was in my last year at SUNY Morrisville–nowhere near my mom’s couch. I also remember the shorter version being a disappointment when it would pop up later.
No, I really don’t know why this makes me laugh. I mean, we did sit in grandma’s recliner pretending we were race car drivers or astronauts, so it might be that. But, the brain is a funny machine! The laughter is more likely from a darker joy. Who even knows? Sometimes, all that matters is the stupid funny. I mean, I love the film Yellowbeard (1983), too. That thing is just bad taste and stupidity. My favorite commercial isn’t any different, really.
I hope it made you laugh regardless. We could all use a bit more joy in our lives, don’t you think? Hop through the other author links below to find more gems like this! I am sure we will not disappoint you!
