Do you want science to find aliens or find that we are alone in the universe?
Does it scare you to think there are likely other beings out there?

How apropos! I have been binge watching The X-Files (1993) television series all over again. I float between this and Supernatural (2005) lately. They both fall into the realm of my interests and even what I often find myself writing about. Aliens, Monsters, oh, My!
You can surmise from the above that I absolutely want there to be aliens. The hope is that they’re evolved, sentient beings, too. Not only this, but an array of flora that will blow the mind. I want new animals to fall in love with. Mostly, I want to have a beer with a gray alien. They’re my favorite purported alien race. Have you seen the film Paul (2011)?
The idea of alien life is more inspiring to me than frightening. However, I have a health dose of reality running through my thoughts on the matter as well. For instance, look at how cruel humanity is to itself and to the world in which we live, as well as the other life with which we share this planet. I’m not naïve enough to think that there will not be a race just as cruel or more so.

Being a Star Wars and Star Trek fan, I feel as though this is what we’ve been seeking and preparing for all our lives. Curiosity and wonder reign over any fear that I have. Space is a scary place, deeply inhospitable to life, keeping us separate and ignorant of one another. The intertext that I’m reading in that is that it is planned to be this way. Whether nature is sentient or there is a great experiment by something we’d liken to a god, I am not certain. Yet, there does seem to be reason in the chaos.
The future will be an interesting place, regardless. Humanity will spread across the universe and encounter a great many things they never thought possible–just as we have here on Earth. Hopefully, I will see more than our fledgling flights into the cosmos before my lifetime is out. Also, it would be nice to see that not devolve in the next great human conflict (she says with a heavy, reluctant heart).
