The Soul Races of The Trailokya Trilogy: Aghartians

So far we’ve talked about the duta races of The Trailokya Trilogy, as well as humans and danava. Then, we moved onto the races with whom humanity shares their universe (Samsara). First up was the Cetians, the Ikyls and Oreiades, Boarwellum, Hyadeans, Vetehinen, Aurai, Els, Drago, the Grails, and Nagas. What interesting race do I have in store for you this time?

Aghartians. A race of souls, humanoid in build, but taller, like duta, with pale blue skin and platinum hair.

Aghart. The home planet of the Aghartians.

Aghartians are rumored to be the founders of the United Watcher Orders of Samsara (UWOS), even though they are one of the many soul races of Samsara. Their long history began before Earth had evolved humans into a culturally similar group that dominated their planet. The reason behind their being labeled the founders is that they were one of the first races to join the order. Their nature tends to lend itself to the political, and thus they often find themselves in positions of leadership. Their leadership style can appear aloof, indicating they are not comfortable with the mantle of lords of the order. However, they wield their influence as is necessary.

This race is anatomically a match for humans, but more lithe and tall physiologically, and, of course, their blue hue. The skin of aghartians ranges from a pale blue to a brighter almost cerulean. Their eyes match these tones, but can also be green, or teal. The hair is always a shade of gold to white blonde. This appearance is likely why they have come to be colloquially known as the Nordics.

Aghartian history has taken a trajectory comparable to that of Earth’s humans. Upon the invention of steam power, they had an extended period making use of the energy, which even lead them into space. Unlike humans, their means of power was always based on clean energy principles. They are not a race foolish enough to poison themselves for profit.

During an earlier period, Aghart caught the eye of Prince Belial. He became enamored of the people and sought to make them his, under his rule, and as a means for exacting revenge against Zion. He was nearly successful in his endeavor, creating a fallen race of minions called dolls. The prince infiltrated the hierarchy of the aghartian kingdom and caused it to crumble. It was only the greater sense of nobility that rallied them and thwarted Jahannam’s claim. This history has left many of the other members of the UWOS slightly suspicious of them, uncertain they are not still under the influence of the dark universe.

Aghart, their home planet, has the same climates as Earth, but the environment has been taken better care of. Architectural styles differ but overall execution is similar to human development as well. Due to all of the similarities these races have, it is of no wonder the aghartians champion human inclusion in the UWOS.

Aghart’s favored allies to this point are the Grails and the Cetians. Their goals for Samsara and it’s many races align perfectly. As sinister as that sounds, it is actually quite benign. As members of the UWOS, they are aware of the other worlds neighboring their own. Additionally, they are aware of the Conflict and the enemies this bred against Zion. Lastly, they are aware of their ties to Zion and are loyal to the king. It is their hope that humanity is ready to join the cause before Jahannam convinces them of the opposite.

The Soul Races of The Trailokya Trilogy: Nagas

So far we’ve talked about the duta races of The Trailokya Trilogy, as well as humans and danava. Then, we moved onto the races with whom humanity shares their universe (Samsara). First up was the Cetians, the Ikyls and Oreiades, Boarwellum, Hyadeans, Vetehinen, Aurai, Els, Drago and the Grails. What interesting race do I have in store for you this time?

nagas. The soul race, humanoid in build, with double or triple arms and a serpentine lower half.

Ananta. The home planet of the naga.

Nagas exist in human legend. A few faiths declare them deities. The descriptions of these otherworldly beings is mostly accurate, at least as far as the visual aspects. As given in the definition above, Naga are aliens from the planet Ananta, who have two or three sets of arms. Their upper anatomy is humanoid, while their lower extremities resemble the tail of a snake. Their godlike abilities, however, are not accurate, although they must have seemed quite fantastic to the humans who encountered them.

Nagas have a similar personality type to that of humans. They’re a complicated race who walks a narrow path between the light and dark. Some of them are quite susceptible to burning down, like their human counterparts, while others seek to achieve higher enlightenment. Culturally, they have moved beyond religion, but still respect and enjoy historical items of that period of their past. It is difficult to maintain a faith based system in light of knowing what lies beyond Samsara. Their awakening came early on, shortly following the Conflict. Due to their unique anatomy, the danava targeted them for invasion and take over. However, these racist notions resulted them very little. The general population of nagas defied the will of Jahannam and preserved their freedom.

This race has many skilled warriors, but they are not geared solely to war activities. Savvy about their world, they come prepared wherever they go. Their preferred weapon is the bow and arrow or cross bow, which has evolved a great deal over the years.

Among the overall race, there are sub groups with variations of skin tone and number of limbs. They have several dialects, as well as customs, mostly based on ancient traditions that have long lost their mystical spin.

Ananta has several climates, including dessert and tropical. Most of the water is underground, with large land masses covering the planet. The lack of substantial natural barriers kept the Nagas from warring with each other, and encouraged the groups to commune more affably. This should not erase what conflicts that did arise among them. Issues of ethnicity and culture were usually at the root of such disagreements, much like on earth.

Naga technology has taken them beyond their planet where they trade with most other races. Their advancement in diplomacy has made them a friend to even the Vetehinen. These travels are at the root of their brush with humanity on Earth, and their subsequent deification by some of the groups found there. One may argue that allowing such worship is a sign of arrogance, if not deceitfulness. However, if it is understood that they faced certain death unless they secured a position among the natives, it becomes clearer as to why they chose such tactics.

Ananta has been largely ignored by Jahannam since being ousted, but still collects their fallen when they come. These fallen souls are known as Bhogin. In this form, they’re colloquially known as serpent demons.

The Soul Races of The Trailokya Trilogy: The Grails

So far we’ve talked about the duta races of The Trailokya Trilogy, as well as humans and danava. Then, we moved onto the races with whom humanity shares their universe (Samsara). First up was the Cetians, the Ikyls and Oreiades, Boarwellum, Hyadeans, Vetehinen, Aurai, Els, and the Drago. What interesting race do I have in store for you this time?

grail. The taller version of twin species from a twin world, Zeta Reticula.

grey. A colloquial term used to describe the shorter version of twin species from Zeta Reticula. Sometimes used for the taller.

Zeta Reticula. twin planets that have on which the similar grail races have evolved. The system also has twin stars (Reticuli), similar to Earth’s sun, but with less luminosity. The inhabitants distinguish between which orbiting planet they come from calling the the one closer to the sun Apics and the darker (or further) Lyran.

The grails are a familiar race to most humans, at least in the cultural stories they share, known as Greys or Grey Aliens. Though they’re still ranked as legend, the number of experiences humans have had continue to increase. While the technology of Earth improves, the grail race will continue to examine humans for inclusion in the United Watchers Order of Samsara (UWOS). Grails are one of the earliest groups to have joined and hold a great deal of sway in the council.

Lyran Grail

Grails have a great deal of duality in their natural world and culture. Coming from a twin star system, they hail from a pair of twin planets. The Grails themselves are made up of two distinct races: the short Grail or the tall Grail. Other than the height difference, there are lesser differences of anatomy, such as the size and shape of the eyes, or the crease of the skull. Individual differences also exist from grail to grail.

Both versions of Grail are highly intelligent and prize intellectual pursuits above all others. For this, their minds have evolved greatly and thus they’ve become an essential member of the UWOS. They are not without emotion, although their actions and reasoning can make it seem that way. Because they are so quick witted, they are capable of analyzing situations from many angles, and usually choose the wisest course. That course may conflict with emotional attachment in dire situations, thus leaving them to appear cold.

Apics Grail

As scientists, they are the UWOS’s usual choice to visit new candidate worlds in Samsara, such as Earth mentioned above. They will study not just the bio interfaces of the race, but also their culture, so they can have a complete picture of the candidate. Because they must do so under clandestine means, as not to out the order, candidate races often have nightmarish stories to tell of the encounters. One might think it would be easier to utilize existing records instead, but the Grail wants accurate information which might not be included in such records, depending on the advancement of the subjects. Most certainly they do use such records along with cadaver research, but the living subject cannot be substituted in the end. There simply are physiological differences between a deceased bio interface and a living one. They do not embark on this research with malice, regardless.

Zeta Reticuli is the location of their home worlds, referred to in tandem as the Zeta Reticula. The system is centered on twin stars that resemble the Sun of Earth, but burn with less light, leaving Apics and Lyran dim. The climates of the planets are moist and warm. Though the stars do not cast enough light to bake the planets, their inner heat from volcanic activity fill the void. There is no winter (or cold period) on either planet. The vegetation has learned to grow with minimal light, while some casts its own luminosity. They feed from the rich minerals in the soil. Lakes and marsh, forest and field make up the majority of the territory with minimal oceans. Wildlife differs slightly between Apics and Lyran, but also resembles similar forms found on Earth.

Daeva

Apics is the brighter of the dual planets, and home to the taller of the two species. Because of the increased light, these grails have smaller eyes. Their cousins on Lyran are shorter of stature with larger eyes to see in the increased dimness. Size differences between the two may have evolved because the vegetation on Apics is more nutritious than those found on Lyran, thus creating a smaller version of the species. Likely they evolved from a single species, branching out during early exploration. The age of their societies is unknown, but believed to be one of the oldest in the universe.

The advanced technology of the Grails has kept their planets cloaked from view for thousands of years. This is why there are no habitable planets found in the system which they claim. This is a survival necessity from the role they play in the UWOS.

Grails are not immune to burning down. Grail souls who are snared by the forces of Jahannam become Daeva. The changes in their form are minimal, but frightening nonetheless. Their long fingers become appended with sharp claws, as their arms extend. Their small mouths become broader with rows of conical teeth. The dark eyes become hollow, shining orbs. And, their skin dries to bony leather.

The presence of Daeva may be responsible for many of the negative encounters recalled by souls throughout Samsara.

The Soul Races of The Trailokya Trilogy: Drago

So far we’ve talked about the duta races of The Trailokya Trilogy, as well as humans and danava. Then, we moved onto the races with whom humanity shares their universe (Samsara). First up was the Cetians, the Ikyls and Oreiades, Boarwellum, Hyadeans, Vetehinen, Aurai, and the Els. What interesting race do I have in store for you this time?

drago. Soul race of reptilian humanoids. This race does not cooperate with the UWOS.

Tarbezek. the home planet of the reptilian race called the drago.

Drago are one of the most unique of the soul races. Humanoid in form, they’re actually reptiles. Drago have adapted to walk upright on two legs. They have long fingers with nails that somewhat resemble more human fingernails, but are thicker and come to a natural point. The development of their eyes and scales differ between the ethnicities of drago that have populated the planet of Tarbezek. Their eyes might resemble those of chameleons, snakes, monitors, geckos, or iguanas depending on what section they evolved in. So, too, their scales.

Dessert sands dominate the planet, but there are also savanna, chaparral, and steppe zones. Water is scarce on Trabezek, leaving the indigenous life to obtain it through food sources. The climates are warm with minimal polar ice. The temperature is unbearably hot at the equator, which resulted in one of the drago’s most innovative solutions to unite the hemispheres of their world. Miles of tunnels extend 100’s of feet below the surface, reinforced with tooled stone. The structures are a wonder of architecture. Rumored to still be under construction, they took centuries to build. As much as they are an inspiration, they are also a source of fear. Extensive mapping by modern drago has done a great deal to mitigate the dangers of the tunnels, but drago still go missing annually.

Drago are cold blooded as their reptilian status suggests. They require the warmth of their environment to sustain health. Across each group, metabolisms are slow. This adaptation is the result of scarcity of food. Drago may have once been cannibalistic, but that is a theory soundly rejected by current generations. All of their ethnicities are air breathers. These attributes should make clear why getting lost in the equatorial tunnels is so feared. They would last for a very long time, in a state of semi-hibernation. Delirium would precede death after a long and very alert period wandering the darkness. Should they come across a food source, the nightmare would be prolonged.

The cultures of this race are centered on militaristic views. Their history is littered with war and slavery. To this day they still wage war against one another over perceived slights or resources. Factions break the planet up into zones despite the broad intermingling of the various ethnicities. Tribalism manifests in racist and sexist tendencies.

The United Watcher Order of Samsara (UWOS) does not trust the drago. The members making up the council have determined that this war loving race is unfit for inclusion in their peaceful organization. Drago are not impressed by the UWOS, confused as to why they do not use their vast power to dominate Samsara and subjugate the weaker races for labor and other undesirable duties. Thus, the drago align themselves with other races, like the Jinn. Trade with other races does not exist and the drago suspended their space exploration after losing a colonization party on a distant world, never to be heard from again.

In Zion, the drago souls are as peaceful as the other races. Their militarism is reduced to the way in which they order their society. Fallen drago are more like the incarnated version, yet far more violent. When they become minions of Jahannam, drago loose their sight, their scales smooth to a rubbery hide. Duta refer to them as mudeaters or serpents.

The Soul Races of The Trailokya Trilogy: Els

So far we’ve talked about the duta races of The Trailokya Trilogy, as well as humans and danava. Then, we moved onto the races with whom humanity shares their universe (Samsara). First up was the Cetians, the Ikyls and Oreiades, Boarwellum, Hyadeans, Vetehinen, and then the Aurai. What interesting race do I have in store for you this time?

els. The soul race of giant humanoids with gray skin and bulky musculature, hairless. This race does not cooperate with the UWOS.

Anakim. The home planet of the giant els.

The giant humanoid race of els, although they do not cooperate with the United Watcher Orders of Samsara, have place in many of the folktales and histories of other worlds throughout the galaxy. How they’ve come to be so far from home is a mystery, as they are believed to not go beyond their borders. It is possible that some els have been kidnapped and taken to these others planets, which would explain the violence almost always attributed to them. (See the images of two sculptures depicting els below.)

The race of els is actually a peaceful race. They have little interest in the other worlds that exist outside their own. Crime is virtually non-existent. The population is relatively small compared to other races. This could be due to the somber landscape of their home planet, Anakim.

Els are creatures of few words, and have earned a reputation for being a bit slow. This too is untrue. Their technology is highly advanced and they seek to protect it from the meddling of other races or it being shared with them. Their belief is to remain out of the business of others, especially those less advanced. Els catalog their universe via satellites and unmanned exploration. Their presence on other planets (culturally or physically) may also be attributed to early explorations that were manned and led them to think the better of it after loosing astronauts and learning more about the universe at large. To say they are cautious would be accurate.

An el is characterized by their giant stature, on par with duta height, but far thicker of build. They are the only soul race to be bigger than the duta. However, they are not more powerful. Their great bulk makes them physically slower and doesn’t equate to greater strength. They evolved as such due to the cooler weather of their planet. The musculature and fat keep them amply warm. Due to low light conditions, their skin is pale white. In the sun of Earth it will redden as the capillaries struggle to cool their great girth. Higher temperatures can make them sluggish and ill until their body acclimates.

Their eyes are completely black, but do not seem larger than human eyes due to the measurements of their facial and skull structure. They are, in fact, much larger. The dark color helps to gather as much light as possible on the dim planet.

Anakim, their home, is largely a rocky dessert. Water does flow, but plant life is minimal and mainly toward the poles in a thin ring before the frozen tundra and snowy caps. Els survive on fungus, which they farm underground and the amphibious land animals that use the waterways and seas for breeding and feeding. Fishing is a small economy, as most of the creatures in the oceans are toxic. They will harvest a kelp like weed from the marshes, which also serves as the base of textiles.

It is believed that Anakim’s once lush surface was destroyed by the eruption of a super volcano hundreds of thousands years ago. It altered the atmosphere enough that the small sun has not been

enough to recover the plant and animal life. A human visiting Anakim would be able to breath the air, as it is similar to Earth’s, but find it thin. The els evolved to process the air via four large lungs. They also absorb the elements of respiration through foods and water ingestion.

The planet undergoes a slow rotation and quick orbit, essentially reversing the concept of a day and a year. Thus, time concepts are calculated oppositely by this race.

El culture is subdued and focused on learning. Their architecture and engineering displays an appreciation for artistic presentation. An appeal for symmetry is something they share with the other intelligent races, as well as a desire for order.

El’s have refused membership in the UWOS each time they have been invited. They regard the committee and it’s work as aggressive and militaristic. Other than personal defense, they have little interest in military affairs. The UWOS quietly protects Anakim by keeping open communication and reporting any pertinent intelligence.
