What toppings do you put on your pizza? Is pineapple a real pizza topping?

Let’s start with the latter question straight out. Literally anything you put on a pizza is then a topping. That’s the nature of what topping means. Whether you like the topping or not is irrelevant. Yes, pineapple is a real pizza topping. Pineapple is real. It can be placed on a pizza. It’s a thing some people really love. I’m not here to yuck anyone’s yum. There’s a lot better stuff I can be doing! Besides, I have never had it on pizza and cannot speak with authority on whether I like it or not.
So what do I put on my pizza? I love meat lovers pizzas. I like sausage and mushroom. Pepperoni. Just cheese. Broccoli. Buffalo chicken. Barbecue Chicken. Ham…
I could go on and on and on. The fact is, I love pizza. Just writing this response is going to send me into a craving tailspin.
Traditional pizza is an absolute favorite of mine. Nothing beats a well put together Margherita, especially a woodfired pie. A more obscure favorite of mine is called tomato pie. That is a tradition from central New York where I went to undergrad. It’s the pizza without the mozz. It’s so good and I will die on that hill for it.
Roasted garlic (not white sauce) makes a nice pizza topping, too. I’d make that more like a focaccia, however, and put the sauce on the side. Just make that dough with the herbs and olive oil, the garlic and dip dip dip. You can’t go wrong with mozz on top of that!
I wonder what the other authors in the hop love on their pizza. Let’s click on their links below to find out.

I can go for the garlic and herb focaccia base. And for whatever you want as a topping, even broccoli, if that floats your particular boat.
Pizza without cheese? I’m not so sure about that.
It’s very good. There’s a sprinkling of parm on it.
Oooh. I haven’t had a margherita pizza in a while. I’ll have to get one soon.
Interesting that American bloggers call pizzas ‘pies’. In the UK a pie is something made with pastry on the top and bottom, and with a filling in the middle.
lemon meringue, chocolate cream, coconut cream, and banana cream do not have top crusts. Dutch apple, also have a crumble top, not pastry.
