If your character wanted to wear a disguise, how would they dress?

Hmmm. Which one of my characters would dress in a disguise? Anyone? Anyone? I know you know of which one I’m thinking.
Carsten Reiniger makes his life being in disguise. He hides in plain sight in most cases. What is his costume of preference? It depends on what he’s doing at the time. If he’s posing as a soldier, he’ll wear the appropriate uniform. If he’s posing as a clandestine services operative, a nice suit. But–a nice suit goes for a lot of what he gets up to! Mr. Reiniger, after all, is a spy.
Being that Carsten lives during the period of World War II, you can guess that he wears a nice suit and tie. Rarely will you find him in his Wehrmacht uniform. No need to advertise what he’s doing and end a stellar career before he can achieve his end game. I bet you’d like to know what exactly his end game is, too. I can’t tell you anymore than he can. I’m not going to open my trap and get him caught!
That’s right, you’ll just have to read OP-DEC to get to know him best. With a sequel in the works, you’re sure to be up to date on him when that next book does hit! You’ll get every single disguise he puts on to complete his tasks and remain deep under cover. Once you’re sure you know who he’s working for, you’ll be twisted up to think twice. Maybe Carsten just works for himself? Or maybe he’s just that good.
Do any of my other characters play dress up? Well, if you get into The Trailokya Trilogy, you’ll find that they also don suits to fulfill a role. In their case, it could be a whole body! That’s right. Maiel slips into a Holly suit in book two, and it’s quite a ride before she regains her memory of who she really is. Maiel isn’t alone, either. Literally everyone in the story has put on a meat suit to fulfill a dharmic contract (lifespan). That’s pretty startling to realize that everyone is basically playing a part in a great big theatrical show.
If you could, would you shed your disguise to find out who you really are? The ultimate unmasking. Sit back for a moment and think about how mind-shattering that might be. Everything you know is just a role, and the real personality is hidden underneath with a whole other history to boot! The next time you look in the mirror, stare into your own eyes and see if you can peep that person within.
Let’s hop on over and check out what the other authors have to say about their characters and costume by clicking on their links below. Thanks for stopping by!

You could say that every fiction writer wears a disguise as we write our characters and live through them
We do! We play every character in the books we create, in order to create them.
AS I’ve got deeper into being an author, I’ve seen inside myself and realised that there’s a lot more going on in there than I could have imagined.
That’s good!
