Welcome back for another installment of The Blue Honor Vlog. Subscribe to my channel on YouTube. As a subscriber, you’ll get episodes of Shagbottom Theater, updates from the blog, and watch the process of making book trailers. And! You’ll be first in line to see it all. Once a video is ready, it’s uploaded, and you don’t have to wait for it to come out on the blog or even in the newsletter. Let’s get started!
On this episode, I talk about where I’m from. Believe it or not, this taping gave me a bit of trouble. I’m not talking about the usual gaffes and interruptions either. You can always tell if I hate a question by how long I drag my feet to get to the taping. This one took me nearly the month to pin down. I had no answer and I really wasn’t excited to give one either.
After about seven to ten takes, I settled on doing it the next day, come hell or high water. I had to get it done before the month ended. At least those takes helped me work my answer out better–after verbal diarrhea, off camera noise, and Fionn needing to get outside. I guess it wasn’t bad to just go off and say a whole bunch of things. Those videos are now deleted, but I was able to gel what I needed to say in a much better video that was a heck of lot more focused.
Seriously, sometimes I get going. I didn’t want to do that this time. Honestly, I don’t script these. I just talk. You get raw, honest answers. This is still pretty raw and honest, but it’s not six blocks over from the point.
Well, I just let you watch, and find out where I’m from…
