It’s time again for another episode of Shagbottom Theater!
If you’re like me and my family, then you probably watch a lot of holiday flicks during the holidays. What are your traditional go-to movies? I have a pretty lengthy lineup that can take the entire 25 days to Christmas. My must haves are the Disney specials (Mickey’s Christmas Carol and Once Upon a Christmas), Scrooge starring Albert Finney, the Rankin Bass line up, and Peanuts Christmas.
There’s one that’s pretty popular outside that typical list I mentioned: The Bishop’s Wife. Fionn and others I know both love this film. His favorite is the Cary Grant version, but there is also the Denzel Washington remake (The Preacher’s Wife). When I was stuck for ideas of what the Theater should produce in December, Fionn immediately jumped on this classic.
But that’s not where this is going to end. Fionn had so much fun, he suggested doing a Year of Cary Grant Shagbottoms! Stay tuned for more, but now, let’s take a minute to watch him run a line from the show…
Dudley: Well, I’ll tell you what you can do. Break that shell. Now, think of what you could do for others. And you’ll no longer have time to think of yourself. Forgive yourself, Mrs. Hamilton, as Allan Cartright forgave you long ago.
