In the last installment of The Art of Trailokya, I shared animated images that I have created based on the story. Like I mentioned previously, recent months introduced me to a great app that allowed me toanimate still photos. This artform has a lot of possibilities, including creating illustration for books. One might wonder: why not just use a film clip, but the cost of buying stock footage is often not in the budget. Besides, this animated-still form is a visual treat. Film can be busy with motion, while still photos both focus on the subject, and have enough animation to create non-distorting motion. It forces the eye to focus on the idea/subject, and gain both tone and emotion. It’s a snip of a moment.
If you scroll down this page, the right column contains several of these images created for my books and Shagbottom Theater. Visit my Instagram account to catch more. Not every piece in the following video is focused on Trailokya, but the majority is. Here’s a link to the video created in September highlighting my work from summer 2018.
Enjoy!
