Welcome back to another edition of the Open Book Blog Hop! If you’re new to the series, the authors included are grateful for your reads and appreciate, even more so, when you share our writings with your friends. If you’re new to the series, welcome aboard. I am a huge meme fan. I actually have a great big folder full of them on my computer, to use at a moment’s notice. When trolling the trolls (boy, do I love giving back their own medicine), it’s especially useful, and I’ve collected some really great memes that get them wound immediately.

Funny memes are a true joy. As mentioned in the writing prompt, Pinterest is a great resource, and I have several boards across many themes (fandoms, books and writing, political, historical, film, animals, etc). So let’s stick to those. The others are often over the top.

Here’s the first. I’m sure you can relate. It hearkens the first page woes.

This one makes me think of editing. It can, of course, apply to interpersonal relationships, which I am sure is the actual intention, but aren’t our books interpersonal relationships with imaginary figures?

One of my favorite things to do is cheerlead for other authors. It’s important to me, after the many rejections and cold shoulders I came across getting to where I am now. There’s room for all of us. Not everyone wants to be a writer, and not everyone will stick with it, but supporting those who make an attempt will not take away from you. In fact, it will help you grow and learn in ways that you cannot when closed off, and those ways are really important to your writing future.

Also, It’s good to be reminded that you shouldn’t measure your success by that of another. Not anyone else.

Beside cheerleading, I’m a huge advocate for higher learning. I believe in the power it gives, and the mind opening that it obtains. My work has always improved immensely when I take a class. It gives you practice you might not otherwise engage, and, like I say about over researching a project, you find new tools where you might not have looked.

This last one shows my dark sense of humor. Writers spend a lot of time in their heads, imagining fantastical things. I can be pretty morbid at times, but always with a little grin. Have you ever wondered, if the people you pass are real, maybe they’re ghosts? How would you know unless you reached out and touched one? Even so, perhaps they have amassed enough energy to become corporeal for a moment. Imagine…
