Happy Holidays to my readers. This season, I will celebrate a secular Christmas, like I have for all my life. What holidays do you celebrate at the end of the year? I’m a fan of Yule and the various historical incarnations of the light festivals in December. This month is filled with warm memories, and turns me rather nostalgic.
This year, however, I’ll be looking forward with history in mind. You see, there is a new addition to the family. I couldn’t be prouder to be a mom. It’s been a long time in coming.
Say hello to the wonderful gift I received this year, Miss Katie:
Are there any new additions or other gifts you received this year? Tell me about them in the comments below.
I hope that you have a wonderful holiday season. I look forward to making them bright for you with my continued work. Remember not to take yourself too seriously in the coming year, and have fun!

So, cute! I love babies. “Their eyes haven’t been used yet” was what my midwife said when she handed me our daughter. I thought that was the best description of their innocence I’d ever heard.
That’s such a beautiful thought to remind others of. So important. I carried this same idea with me for years, so I’m always so stoked to show her things. EVERYTHING is new. Imagine? I miss that feeling of wonder.
