Arcadia is the second landmass in Zion occupying a good portion of the mid and northern regions. It is the largest landmass out of all the provinces. Arcadia is less crowded than Zion Province and The White City. At least that is true in the southern areas of the island. On the north end, the pristine beauty that Arcadia is known for is more developed than the rest. It is here that the Orders are located. The compounds are sometimes nearly conjoined, while others leave open space between the borders.
Arcadia is unique in that all the major rivers of Zion flow through its lands (Gihon, Euphrates, Pison, and Tigris). The names of these rivers have shown up in Samsara, such as on Earth in the Middle East. Three of these tributaries are fed by the major waterway Gihon. All of them end in the Urva Sea, which laps three of the shores of Arcadia. The Khajala prevents shipping across the Sea without the use of an Astral Guide of great experience. It’s a dangerous endeavor that both souls and duta avoid.
Gyuto Order, Arcadia
This area of Zion is heavily populated by souls who find comfort being in the proximity of the duta orders. Suburban is the best description of North Arcadia, although it has immense stretches of cultivated gardens and lands. Southern Arcadia is less dense, resembling the rolling hills of Tuscany or the wine country of California on Earth. The houses are large family estates, where multiple generations reside. Of course, not every member of the family stays. With risings and freedom to choose, a soul or duta can find themselves living well way from the family manor. For instance, Maiel does not live at home, but the family estate is located in South Arcadia. Joining the Moon Order took her to the North and the compound run by her order, while she relocated to Eden once married to raise her children.
Two peninsula create the area referred to as South Arcadia. As mentioned above, these regions resemble parts of Tuscany and California which are located on Earth. The population is less dense, made up of large family groups in long established estates. It is a peaceful existence and quite sheltered from the rest of Zion. There are fewer chances for those living here to come into contact with the diversity existing in the North, the province, or The White City. Unlike in Samsara, this doesn’t create senses of fear or exclusion. A traveler who stops at a manor is welcome to a meal and some rest. They are not turned away wanting, regardless of the time of day.
Some agriculture and manufacturing takes place on the island of Arcadia. Mostly the lifestyle is relaxed, outside of the orders.
