The Trailokya Trilogy Companion is a continuing online manuscript that illustrates and explains some of the details of the story, helping readers to keep things straight while they travel through the series. Readers can view this live companion book on Wattpad (either using the website or an app for their phone) absolutely free.
The companion is organized in alphabetical sections for convenience. In each section, the entries are organized like a dictionary along with original artwork and excerpts from the Trailokya Friday blog posts. In the coming weeks and months the blog will feature specific entries, to give you a taste of what is available in the companion.
Zadakiel.
Dominion and father of Gediel, the Wolf Leader, and husband of Ciajah.
This entry is pretty self-explanatory. Zadakiel is a duta of the Dominion incarnation, and former member of the Fenrir order. Why he is significant is that he’s the son of Prince Gediel and the father of Primus Gediel. The family has a long history connected to the Fenrir Order and training the canids that augment the legions. That history was long ago besmirched by Prince Gediel who fought against Zion in the Conflict of Hosts.
The Conflict affected several families in Zion, but the shame of having a burned down relative especially affected Zadakiel’s. To prove they are not enemies of the king, they’ve chosen to not meddle in anything that does not fall within their orders. For instance, Zadakiel lives inside Mount Zion, rarely ever coming back to his old order, despite his wife, Ciajah. The pair have become estranged since their son’s maturity, due to the mark on the family. Ciajah is not of the family line, obviously, and thus feels less responsible. Still, there are stares, and suspicions of her stemming from the connection of the atman. Ciajah also remains in Fenrir as a watcher. That status alone raises eyebrows.
Zadakiel’s son, who bears the same name as their fallen ancestor, has gained much ground with the authorities of zion. He has parted ways with his family, and he is the soul commander of the Elysion camp for Fenrir where he trains the canids. There are other trainers that work with Fenrir, but none have the reputation of Primus Gediel. Zadakiel is hopeful for his son, and quietly bides his time until his son proves beyond a doubt that they are not tainted by the fall of his father.
A glimpse of Zadakiel is coming in the third installment of the trilogy. Make sure you stay tuned to hear more about The Lucent Rise.
