Have you had a paranormal experience? A Brief description of your experience…
Welcome to my blog from Stevie Turner‘s blog space…
It was the 2000 and I and two of my friends were renting a town house in Guilderland, New York at the Presidential Estates. We all had jobs in the nearby city of Albany. We were in our mid-twenties, finally on our own. Everything was going great.
It so happened that I was the one who got home every night and was there pretty much all the time. I didn’t mind, because I am an introvert and this gave me plenty of time for writing and my other past times. I had just gotten a Jack Russell Terrier pup (Max) and rescued a Siamese Cat (Shen Fu). One particular night, I was folding laundry on the bed, standing on the far side of the room. I was facing my open door. A night or so prior, some young men had spotted me entering the apartment alone, and didn’t stop staring. They tried to get me to answer the door, but my mother didn’t raise a fool. I had just escaped a bad relationship and was a survivor of sexual assault from my youth. So, I was keenly aware and a little edgy to be on my own.
One of my roommates was expected home within a short while, so when I heard a key in the door–the door open and close and someone mount the stairs, I was certain she had finally arrived. The dog was roused, as they usually are, barking a bit, but then he settled back down, as if someone familiar had entered the home. The cat was on the bed, curled up facing the door as well.
Then I saw a coif of black curly hair. The image was somewhat gray–faded, maybe I mean translucent. It was really hard to describe, but the person was there. She looked at me, and she looked very much like my roommate. My roommate is a very distinctive looking person. She has as many distinctive quirks, like staring without saying anything. So, when this figure stood on the top step and stared, I waited for her to say hello, but instead, she turned and walked toward the other bedrooms. Again, the sound of a door opening.
I was still convinced this was my roommate. Though she was wearing what appeared to be a white shirt with something green on the front, and not her FYE uniform, I really thought she had come home and walked past me, giving one of her quirky stares and then moved on in her own little world.
Well, whatever it was had moved on in it’s own little world. I went to say hello and no one was home. I finished folding the clothes and went about my evening. This wasn’t my first rodeo, so to speak, with such an encounter. My other roommate talked about seeing brilliant light emanating from under my door in the very early hours of morning. Imagine, a town house that is relatively new being haunted? It might not make sense, but looking into such phenomena might reveal similar stories in new construction. Perhaps other homes had existed there prior? I never did look into it, since I only lived there a year and it never became anything that I had to worry about.
Let’s see what Stephany Tullis has to say…
Stephany Tullis’s life changed dramatically in the fall of 2008. When her oldest son asked, ‘why don’t you just write a book? Do what you love to do?’, after a few weeks of thought, she decided to give it a shot.
From inception to publication, Stephany worked for four years on her first novel, The Master’s Plan, A Novel About Purpose. When thinking about how much she continually enjoys reading her debut novel, she writes, “I still laugh at all my favorite chapters and have yet to decide who is my favorite or least liked character. It’s amazing! I was able to spin a tail around two frameworks that have had a major influence on my life: church and government politics. In writing The Master Plan, I was reminded of what a blessed life I have had and that despite what appeared to be very dismal circumstances, I was able to use my creativity and love of writing in a different way. Truly, I can see and believe, it was all part of a master plan.”
Stephany Tullis graduated from Russell Sage College with a Masters in Public Service Administration. She is the recipient of several leadership and career related rewards. She continues to consult for not for profits and lives in Georgia with her family.
Stevie is a medical secretary in a busy NHS hospital, typing clinic letters dictated by doctors. At all other times she types exactly what she wants to, and she has found her unique voice writing the kind of novels that women like to read. To date she has self-published seven books, mainly dealing with the darker side of relationships but in a sometimes humorous way. You can find details of her books on the website http://www.stevie-turner-author.co.uk/
Stevie is married, with two sons and three grandchildren. If she isn’t writing or working, then you’ll find her walking around her pretty country village in East Anglia, UK.
I don’t think I could have stayed by myself with an encounter like that. YIKES.
I think I was okay because it was ‘normal’ to me. I grew up in a ‘haunted’ house, so to end up in a townhouse elsewhere that was, didn’t seem off. Thankfully it was only one encounter. If we had stayed longer, maybe there would be more stories. That would have been interesting to document.
