This has got to be the coolest find yet! It’s perfect for this blog too, between history and cooking. What better than to marry cooking and historical studies. A young woman in my cohort was doing just that in her degree program. Excellent!
Alyssa Connell, a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania, and her partner Marissa Nicosia, graduate, are using their skills to interpret and cook each recipe inside the 18th century cookbook they’ve found. These centuries-old recipes are no easy task. We don’t communicate the same and probably some of the items on the list are scarce to get in the United States, but Miss Connell and Miss Nicosia persevere. My hats off to them. They’ve got a foot in three of my favorite topics: Literature, History and Cooking!
